Wine: Chateau Montelena, Calistoga Napa Valley, California – Chardonnay 2011
Served with: Baked ham with roasted root vegetables
1-5 stars (5 being one of the top wines I’ve had): 4 1/2
Notes: Very smooth, clean finish, dry

Wine: Niebaum Coppola Estate, Rutherford Napa Valley, California – Cabernet Sauvignon 1998
Served with: Roast Beef with Horseradish Cream
1-5 stars (5 being one of the top wines I’ve had): 5
Notes: 15 years old by the time we opened it. First wine I ever bought from my 21st birthday, wine-tasting at the winery. Possibly the best wine I’ve ever tasted (agreed upon by my husband, dad and mom too). No bitter aftertaste/tannins. Very fruity full of cherry. Stood up to the test of time and was truly divine.

Wine: Troon Vineyard, Applegate Valley, Oregon – Semi-Sparkling White Wine 2012
Served with: Dungeness Crab and Artichokes
1-5 stars (5 being one of the top wines I’ve had): 4
Notes: I loved this wine. It was very fruity and popped when hits your tastebuds. No bubbles like in a sparkling wine but did taste slightly carbonated. A very fresh and fun wine. Would be perfect in the summertime.

Wine: Schmidt Family Vineyards, Applegate Valley, Oregon – Pinot Noir 2010
Served with: French Onion Soup
1-5 stars (5 being one of the top wines I’ve had): 3 1/2
Notes: Bright color and fruity. Nice dinner wine paired well with the chicken.

Wine: Schmidt Family Vineyards, Applegate Valley, Oregon – Syrah 2010
Served with: Chicken Parmesan with Greens
1-5 stars (5 being one of the top wines I’ve had): 3 1/2
Notes: Smooth. Long finish. Not sweet but very drinkable. Let it “breathe”…got better as it warmed up and rested in the glass awhile.

Wine: Troon Vineyard, Applegate Valley, Oregon – Druid’s Fluid red 2011
Served with: British Cottage Pie (Shepherd’s pie with beef instead of lamb)
1-5 stars (5 being one of the top wines I’ve had): 3 1/2
Notes: Medley of all kinds of red wine so hard to pinpoint exactly what it tastes most similar too. Sweet red. Mellow not too strong. Like a good Italian table wine.

Wine: Schmidt Family Vineyards, Applegate Valley, Oregon – Albarino 2012
Served with: Shrimp, Feta and Tomato Bake
1-5 stars (5 being one of the top wines I’ve had): 3 3/4
Notes: Vibrant. Fruity and light. More flavor than a Viognier. White wine.

Wine: Schmidt Family Vineyards, Apple Valley, Oregon – Mighty Mac Red 2010
Served with: Louisiana Sausage & Shrimp Gumbo
1-5 stars (5 being one of the top wines I’ve had): 3 3/4
Notes: Red blend. Bold. Fresh. Close to a Merlot.

Wine: Chateau Montelena, Napa Valley, California – Chardonnay 2011
Served with: Stuffed Chicken with Apricot Sauce
1-5 stars (5 being one of the top wines I’ve had): 4
Notes: Lush. Bright golden color. Lightly citrusy. Fruity but not cloyingly sweet.
